Commemorating Jewish Mistakes of Messianic Proportion … Is It a Warning?
Why would we commemorate a day like this?! And who gets to decide what this means? Is this a Jewish conundrum? Perhaps it is deliberate.
The Omer and now, it’s the 33rd day …..
Lag BaOmer 2026 / 5786 ל״ג בָּעוֹמֶר
Commemorating the Jewish mistakes ….. especially those of Messianic proportion.
Could it be a warning?

Lag b’Omer — bonfires … are these a warning or are they of the vanities?
To those interested in the Hebrew: Lamed is 30, and Gimmel is 3
Thus, 30+3 = the 33rd day of the Omer
Lag b’Omer: The 33rd Day of Counting the Omer
ל״ג בעומר
Commemorated/celebrated this Monday evening through Tuesday evening.
I would be remiss if I didn’t note that many communities continue to use or match their own parochial interpretations of these events to their own particularistic agendas, to this day.
Time, along with the unfolding circumstances of the Jewish People, will tell us more.
