Weekly Torah Gatherings – Wed 6/18

The Art of the Deal: first the scouts, then the spies & a real madame.

< Plus a little slice of Damacles’ Sword >

First, there were the Scouts of the Book of Numbers, Chapter 13. Then there were the Spies of the Book of Joshua, Chapter 2, and of course — what would be the story without a ‘madame’ and ‘a deal?’ “The Art of the Deal . . . ”

So many twists and turns, please note the red crimson cord here ^ (and simultaneously, please bear in mind Genesis 38:30 below):

וְאַחַר֙ יָצָ֣א אָחִ֔יו אֲשֶׁ֥ר עַל־יָד֖וֹ הַשָּׁנִ֑י וַיִּקְרָ֥א שְׁמ֖וֹ זָֽרַח׃ {ס}

Afterward, his brother came out, on whose hand was the crimson thread; he was named Zerah.
