Apparently the cheater — is now cheated . . . . Can something which is crooked become straightened?
Our Tradition teaches that anyone (or really anything, for that matter) can change for the better — but it is not something that can be left to chance, it requires a lot of work ‘to turn’ — ‘to change’ (some would even say ‘teshuva’) and begin ‘to walk’ in a new path. It is a difficult way forward, often painful, carrying old scars, ‘de-formed or re-formed’ and yet somehow alive — alive for the next chapter — which lies ahead . . . .
I hope to see everyone this evening . . . it’s quite a turn of events, Jewishly, or otherwise, to be sure.
Jacob is wounded, perhaps even dies, Israel is born . . . Judaism is now changing before our eyes, stay tuned.
