Our fellow Lerhaus class gathering member Holly Oberlander, a teacher in the New York City Public School System is quoted today in the Washington Examiner regarding her school’s UFT representative sending out an antisemitic prohamass email to the United Federation of Teachers’ membership she represents:

One wonders what is behind the desire to either support or side-with-savage-brutality, a brutality utterly opposed to a Jewish presence in Israel or really anywhere in the world. Between media outlets, the UN Sec’y General’s office, college campus teachers, and college student organizations, the list is truly endless, what are we now witnessing — what could it be?
Could it be a well-organized, well-funded, influential initiative emanating from offices out of Russia and Iran? No, it couldn’t be that — that’s just too conspiracy-theorist to even consider (sic). Of course, the BBC and CNN (to name but a few), have admitted under scrutiny that their reporting hasn’t been entirely accurate (after the fact) everything is slowly leaking out, albeit, reluctantly. This is not simply a counter screed . . . . we are now witnessing a very well orchestrated war against the Jews, the Jews of Israel, and everywhere throughout the world. As I have said many times before — there are no moral equivalencies; we rae witnessing a jihadic pogrom that has crossed the threshold. Do not let fear overwhelm you — at best, be aware — the Jewish people and our friends will never again be intimidated by ‘being still’ and cowering under our beds — never again is now.

White House Notes . . . . Who is running the White House?
Is it time to ask the White House what ‘it’ is saying to the Jewish people and to the world?
The top White House spokesperson was forced on Monday to walk back a bungled response to a question about a rise in antisemitism after suggesting that threats against Jews have not increased and quickly pivoting to point out that Islamophobia has increased, Jewish Insider’s Gabby Deutch reports.
“We have not seen any credible threats. I know there’s been, always, questions about credible threats. And so just want to make sure that that’s out there,” White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said at a press briefing on Monday in response to a question about antisemitism. “But look: Muslims and those perceived to be Muslim have endured a disproportionate number of hate-fueled attacks.”
Three hours later, Jean-Pierre responded to a post on X from the journalist Yashar Ali, a prominent media figure with more than 700,000 followers, who had called the exchange “odd.” “To be clear: the President and our team are very concerned about a rise in antisemitism, especially after the horrific Hamas terrorist attack in Israel,” Jean-Pierre wrote on X. Contacted by JI, a White House spokesperson declined to comment and instead shared a link to the post on X.
Federal hate crime data released last week showed that antisemitic incidents accounted for more than half of all religion-based hate crimes in 2022.
